EVENT OVERVIEW
The swim consists of a 1-mile leg starting at Glorietta Beach, swimming under the Coronado Bridge, where participants exit the water at Tidelands Park and perform an optional tribute workout consisting of 100 push-ups and 22 pull-ups.
After the workout, swimmers re-enter the water and swim the remaining 2.3 miles to the USS Midway. A final tribute workout is conducted on the flight deck, followed by a closing ceremony.
EVENT DETAILS
The event will commence with a ceremony on the beach, including a moment of silence for our fallen teammates.
Participants will run in formation with American flags to Glorietta Bay.
Participants will swim 1 mile to Tidelands Park.
- This completes Leg 1 of 2 of the FULL race.
- This is also the complete distance for the 1-mile Sprint option.
Participants will honor fallen veterans in an optional tribute workout* at Tidelands Park.
The final 2.3-mile leg of the swim will be from Tidelands Park to the USS Midway.
A second optional tribute workout** will take place on the deck of the USS Midway to complete the race.
Closing ceremony activities will follow.
Swimmers will receive 2 party tickets as part of registration. Additional party tickets may be available for purchase.
* 1-mile Sprint option has limited registrations.

FAQ’s
What time does the race begin?
Swimmers should arrive at the start between 6:30–7:00 AM. Event ceremony begins promptly at 7:30 AM.
Who can participate?
Anyone who can safely complete the designated distances.
What do I need to bring?
Running shoes Goggles Preferred fuel (race will provide some) Optional: wetsuit, fins
What safety precautions are being taken?
All swimmers must wear a personal flotation device. We have a robust water safety team, including kayaks, small watercraft, and boats.
How long does it take?
Depending on swimmer speed, the event includes approximately 90 minutes of total swimming time.
Is this a race?
There are two distance options: 1 mile and 3.3 miles.
Are there prizes?
Unique prizes are awarded each year for:
- Top Female
- Top Male
- Top Fundraiser
What is this raising money for?
